Major Tourist Attractions in Kerala

Kerala, often hailed as “God’s Own Country”, is a destination that goes far beyond its palm-fringed beaches and serene backwaters. It is a land where culture, heritage, and natural beauty coexist in perfect harmony, drawing travelers from across the globe. From enchanting hill stations and vibrant port cities to ancient temples and traditional art forms, Kerala has something unique to offer every visitor. If you’re planning your dream holiday with Sarathi Tour & Travels, here are some of the top attractions you simply cannot miss:

Alleppey (Alappuzha)

Known as the “Venice of the East”, Alleppey is Kerala’s most famous backwater destination. Picture yourself drifting along tranquil canals in a traditional houseboat, surrounded by swaying coconut palms and endless stretches of paddy fields. It’s the perfect place to soak in Kerala’s rustic charm and peaceful pace of life.

Thekkady & Spice Plantations

Thekkady is home to the world-renowned Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, a haven for elephants, tigers, and exotic bird species. A boat ride across Periyar Lake is a must for nature lovers. Just beyond the forests, you’ll find lush spice plantations, where the aroma of cardamom, pepper, and cinnamon fills the air. Walking through these gardens offers an unforgettable sensory experience, while also connecting you to Kerala’s rich spice trade history.

Munnar

Nestled in the Western Ghats, Munnar is a paradise of rolling hills carpeted with emerald-green tea plantations. With misty valleys, low-floating clouds, and fresh mountain air, this hill station is perfect for honeymooners and adventure enthusiasts alike. Don’t miss the chance to sip fresh tea straight from the source and explore the nearby spice gardens.

Kochi

Often called the “Queen of the Arabian Sea”, Kochi is where the old meets the new. This bustling port city is dotted with colonial architecture, vibrant spice markets, ancient temples, and the famous Chinese fishing nets. It’s also a hub for art lovers, with contemporary galleries and colorful festivals that showcase Kerala’s creative spirit.

Kanyakumari

At the southernmost tip of India lies Kanyakumari, where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean meet. Famous for its magical sunrise and sunset views, this coastal town also boasts the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a place of deep spiritual significance.
